You may have heard in the news or online about fraudsters posing as caravan owners.
These people will take your money for a fake caravan holiday leaving you out of pocket and stranded with no where to stay.
Many fraudsters ply their trade on websites like Gumtree and Facebook.
How can I stay safe?
Caravans365 is working to help genuine caravan owners keep their good name & reputation, and to help give holidaymakers the trust and confidence they need when booking their family holiday with a private owner.
Look for the VERIFIED OWNER badge on the booking contact when browsing Caravans365.com
1 star means the Owner's postal address is confirmed & verified by Paypal.
OWNER NOT YET VERIFIED This badge means that the advertiser has not yet completed our Paypal postal address verification.
Is it safe to book if the owner is not verified?
Adverts that do not show a "Verified" owner badge, does not automatically mean there's something wrong. Just tread a little more carefully and do your homework.
Other ways to protect yourself before sending a deposit.
Always get confirmation in writing from the owner.
Do not rely on just a mobile phone or email address as the only form of contact.
Always take a landline number, full name and address.
Ask lots of questions, and get a feel for the person on the other end of the phone.
Phone the park itself to confirm caravan ownership of the booking contact and plot number.
Is it too cheap for the time of year? - This may be a warning sign to do a little more digging.
